The 17th edition of the International Symposium on Experimental Robotics (ISER 2020) was held successfully, partly in presence and partly on-line from November 15 to 18, 2021. With great excitement the participants gathered in Malta for the first international physical meeting in robotics after the pandemic.

The event was attended by 40 people, while another 50 attended remotely. Out of a total of 54 papers, 22 were presented on site for a blended technical program with interactive discussion at the end of each of the 9 sessions. An NSF Ph.D. Consortium took place during Monday lunch, while a Panel on "InterAction Technology: The role of experimental robotics" took place in Gozo on Thursday.

The social program in the cozy scenario of the island and its surroundings was intensive too and the good weather facilitated the come together among the participants, as in the brief photo gallery below.

The Proceedings of ISER 2020 are available in the SPAR volume. Our farewell is for the next edition of ISER which will take in place in Chiang Mai, Thailand in 2023.
